120fps slo mo limits?

curious about this and googling hasn't turned up anything. out of curiosity, i shot a clip with a friend's new 5s at 720p/120fps, or thought i did. the clip, when played back, started at normal speed, though, then switched to slo mo, then, near the end, switched back to normal speed. my questions:

does it always do this (normal/slow/normal)?

is there a way to shoot entirely at 120fps?

are there limits to the duration for a clip shot at 120fps (other than the obvious possible memory limits)?

can anyone point me to detailed tutorials that might cover questions like these?

thanks,

thanks! is the duration of the normal speed that bookends the slo mo always the same? or does it change length based on the diuration of the slo mo shot?

also, how about manual exposure and focus? could one get a decent result shooting something like, say, fire on a torch? or would the camera fluctuate exposure as the fire changes and flares? can you stop down to get more detail out of a flame?

and, lastly, say i have a dark space. can i turn on lights and focus on a specific spot, then turn off the lights and have that spot retained as i shoot?

thanks again,

the original answer is not correct. the entire clip is shot at 120fps. by default, the playback of the video picks an in and out point for the slo mo effect, but you can simply tap on the video's timeline, and drag the start and stop point of the slo mo effect. If you want the entire clip to be slo mo, drag the points to each edge of the timeline.

best to you.
