I have an iPad and my lab top crash. So instead of buying a new one would like to be able to use my iPad to write report for school and use excel spreadsheet from time to time. Can someone help guide me in the right direction? Thank you...

You need Apple's iWork suite of apps - Pages for word processing and Numbers for spreadsheet. M$ has not made Office for iPads. iWork is compatible with Office. http://www.apple.com/creativity-apps/mac/
