The iPhone camera roll is not designed for photo storage. These photos should be regularly imported to your computer, just like photos from any digital camera. If you want photos on your iPhone, sync them to your phone.

If you have a backup, to restore from your camera roll, that contains the deleted photos for iPhone.

If you accidentally deleted your photos from iPhon, here are two ways to recover deleted photos from your iPhone. Two solutions to recover photos from iPhone: One is retrieving photos from iPhone directly. The other one is restoring iPhone photos from iTunes backup.
You can get help of a professional program called iPhone photo recovery. It can offer you an easy and helpful way to restore the deleted and lost photos. Even though you may not make the iTunes backup, you can restore them if you use iPhone 4/3GS.

I found it via a Google search. Didn't realize that they spamed the ASC as I don't frequent the iPhone forum where I learned that the spam occurs most. The demo seemed worked for me but the price is a bit excessive in my opinion. However, many similar apps are priced the same. If there's another app that will do the job and doesn't spam I would suggest you use it.

I like PhotoRec because it allows you to scan only the free space on the device instead of scanning the whole thing. That way it is much faster and the free space is where your deleted files are anyway. (Recuva has a deep-scan option; so I wonder if the normal scan searches free-space) Either way, PhotoRec can detect a lot of filetypes. Of course it is not very user-friendly for novices.

It’s a piece of good news that the app can also work on Mac now. I successfully recovered 500+ photos, 700+ messages and 210+ contacts from the iTunes backup of my iPhone 5s with the help of the amazing app. Hope it also helps anyone with the same problem.

I have the same problem, yesterday I delete a folder with some photos, I deleted it trying to copy this photos to my cpu, but they disappeared!

I know that they are in one of the itunes backup but I believe that if I do this, the new photos, archives etc I have will disappear because the old archives will overwrite the new ones, its that right?

Thanks

If you want to recover from iTunes backup, here are the steps:
Click the "File" menu and select "Devices" > "Restore from Back up".
Or
Open the iOS device's "Summary" tab. There are two ways to access this:
Click the device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper right corner. The device button will then be visible.)
From any view in iTunes, click the "View" menu and select "Show Sidebar". Select your iOS device in iTunes under "Devices:.
Click the "Restore Backup" button.
