Failing to send mail in Mavericks with Exchange IMAP

Hello.

I have the last update from Mail, Version 7.0 (1822) and still have problems sending mail with an Exchange IMAP account.

If I Quit Mail and reopen, then works fine and sends all mail. But as it remains open (and working on something else), suddenly stopos sending new mail.

I have to keep checking Outbox Mailbox ... if it's stuck, then I Quit and reopen ... something I even have to Force Quit Mail.

This does not happen with the same Exchagen IMAP account on my iPad (iOS 7) and didn't happen on Mountain Lion.

Thanks,

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Are you able to send & receive new email from the Exchange IMAP account?, try Quit Mail (or Force Quit if it's not responding) and launch again.

If you are not able at all to send & receive new email after relaunching, then maybe this specific discussion is not related to your problem.

FYI. Email Accounts are not longer configured under Mail App. Instead, Mavericks handles mail accounts with Internet Accounts under System Preferences. From this menu, select you Exchange IMAP account and click Advanced and see if you have IMAP Host name configured.

The existing Exchange IMAP account works perfectly. The problem is that I need to setup another email account from the same email server and the option to configure an Exchange IMAP account is no longer there. I'm aware of the changes to where accounts are configured. I've looked in Mail app's config and in System Preferences.

Just wondering if there is a way to force an Exchange IMAP account. I'm sorry if it seems like I highjacked the thread. Just seemed on topic when I responded lol.

Hi,

I am having the same issues here. The problem with the solution proposed above is a) you don't get the calendar sync'd and b) IMAP doesn't sync email status and hence inconsistency between your mobile clients and desktop. As was mentioned before, how can one setup an EXCHANGE IMAP and not ONLY IMAP account under Mavericks Mail client. Thanls

Hi Smeshki.

Under IMAP setting I was successfully syncing email through OS X Mavericks, iOS 6 and iOS 7. All my emails where correctly marked as read, flagged, moved to folders and deleted.

Yes contacts and calendars won't sync with Exchange Server 2003 under IMAP setting.

Our company moved to Outlook Office 365 and it's working a little better now, but nothing compared with Gmail.

My guess is that Apple decided to remove Exchange IMAP setting on Mavericks.
