Active Sync does not work with zimbra

We try to connect mavericks to a Active Sync Server (Zimbra) but its simply does not work at all. When Connecting to server, maverick still trys to resolve the server from the domain part of the emal addresss. Despite the fact we have the server specified. Further not Real ActiveSync connection is establiched at all.

We think the statement that Mavericks is unsing the "standard" ActiveSync Protocol is note reall true? Any advice how to fix thje problem?

OS X does not use ActiveSync. It uses Exchange Web Services.

ActiveSync is a mobile-ONLY protocol. It's supported on iOS, but not on OS X. Microsoft doesn't license the protocol for use on desktop operating systems.

I know these facts. And the Webservices was already used before. But why then even the apple documentation says explicit this has changed and "Mavericks can connect to server using the ActiveSync Protocol"

That paragraph refers to syncing multiple devices. I suspect it means you'd be setting up your Mac to use EWS and your iOS devices to use ActiveSync.

its arguable as it satrts with a clear Reference to Mavericks. But anyway no mind, Zimbra seems to go and fix the problem by implemeting EWS in the next version. Mayn thanks for clarifing, saves testing time.
