ipad keeps locking up

My ipad screen frequently locks up and does not respond. Later, screen goes blank and the black and white apple logo appear. The computer starts up again, works then locks up again. This has happened with great frequency since installing 7.03. Never happened before. I just watched the ipad do the same thing as I am typing this.

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.0.3

Try a device reset:

Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)

1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.

2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
