Red eye tool not working

Since I reinstalled Aperture 3 on my new iMac, I cannot get the red eye tool to work. I get the circles around the eyes, but nothing happens... I looked for settings or something, but found nothing to solve my problem...

Yes, I am using the right tool. I have been using this tool in Aperture for a long time. In fact, it works fine on my older iMac. I imported the same photo in both iMacs. It corrects fine on my old iMac (2008), but it does nothing on my new 2013 iMac.

Both are running the same version of Aperture (3.5) and both systems are also running on Mavericks.

I noticed a difference in the build of the digital camera RAW, but I would be surprised that that would influence a feature like the red eye tool...

One thing you can try is to reset the adjustment prefs.

- Select the following from the Go/Go To Folder option from the Finder menu bar.

- type ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture

- Then copy the Aperture folder to your desktop so you can get back to it if you need.

- Then delete the Aperture folder from within the Library/Application Support folder.

You can also try resetting the Aperture.plist.

- Select the following from the Go/Go To Folder option from the Finder menu bar.

- type ~/Library/Preferences/ and locate the com.apple.Aperture.plist

- Then copy the com.apple.Aperture.plist to your desktop so you can get back to it if you need.

- Then delete the com.apple.Aperture.plist from the Library/Preferences folder.

Log out of the system and then log back into the system.

Thanks firstlaunch for your suggestions. Unfortunately neither helped.

I've opened by now a call at Apple. An Aperture specialist already went with me through some settings. We also coundn't solve it. He's now escaliting it to Aperture development.

Maybe it's something with our hardware constallation? Sevy2205 are you also working on a iMac (Late 2013) with i7 processor and a GTX 780M Graphics Card?
