Deleting stale apps

Is there a way to delete the apps that are no longer being used on my phone. They are still sitting there in the UPDTAES / PURCHASED / NOT ON THIS PHONE when i do an app update. I have tried Restrictions under General Settings, doesn't seem to work. They are not in any sort of history on my computer. They don't show up when I am trying to sync new songs either.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3

Are they still installed on your phone? As in are the Apps still available to be run on your phone?

If they aren't there anymore

The Update list will clear itself as new updates come along and replace the old ones. Apps no longer on your phone will not be updated again and will fall of the Update list.

The Purchased List and "Not On This iPhone" list cannot be changed as that is your historic purchase list and lets Apple know what apps you have access to for free because you've already bought them.

You can hide them form the Purchased list/Not on this iPhone but you cannot remove them entirely.
