help getting rid of mavericks

Hi guys,

can someone advise how I can downgrade from mavericks to my original install disc (Mac Oc 10.6.3, from 2010). I know i need to erase the hdd first, and i need to know how to do that in disk utility, what option i need to reformat it as etc. Then Im guessing I just boot up from the cd and go from there right? I want to do this properly without messing anything up.

Specs:

Mavericks latest verison

Imac mid 2010, i3, 250GB SSD HDD, 8GB ram

Original Install discs (snow leapord)

Thanks

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
