Dec 3, 2013 9:52 AM in response to richardg413by ludonline,Same issue here. There used to be a workaround and then an update that fixes it in 8.5.1 but Maverick reproduces the issue. Please Apple let us know what to do.
thanks

Dec 3, 2013 3:42 PM in response to jams1361by Robert Grossman,Same problem here, but this is a brand-new MacBook Air, bought it on Black Friday last week. Tried to use Skype and neither I nor the other party could see me.

Dec 12, 2013 11:52 AM in response to jams1361by GrgP,Same here: a late update with Mountain Lion fixed the issue (here), but it is back again with Mavericks: Looking forward to a prompt fix from Apple. None of the softwares detect the camera (FaceTime, iPhoto, iMovie, PhotoBooth...), not even the System Report. Apple, please fix it soon!

Dec 31, 2013 6:32 AM in response to jams1361by David Stamm,Late 2008 Macbook Air. Same problem after fresh install Mavericks.
Resetting Reset SMC or PMU solved the problem - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090?viewlocale=en_US
Have iSight back.

Jan 8, 2014 11:59 AM in response to jams1361by Gary Bonner,Same here IMAC Intel...installed Mac 10.9.1..bye bye I cam with Photo booth, Ichat video, Skype etc. TechTool Pro 7 shows cam and it works when tested by Tech tool Pro7, but in the applications?....Black screen with endlessly spinning icon. One of the possible fixes is re-install Mac Mavericks but there are too many horror stories of bad things happening on re-install. Then there is a fix recommendation of re-installing just the individual packages of applications like Photo Booth, but that requires a Hard Copy which of course did not come with the download, so that is out. ANd Apple?? What about it Apple? (crickets chirping)

Jan 14, 2014 12:39 PM in response to jams1361by taylord,I've had same isight issues. A restart will fix it, but it seems a temporary fix becuase later on it will stop working again!

Jan 14, 2014 2:24 PM in response to taylordby Gary Bonner,Did all the 'restart' recommendations..nada...zip not even temporary.
additionally, I use 'Witness' which links up my CAM to detect motion in my studio and turn on and begin tking photos of intruders....that is out too..so now my security is not working.

Jan 17, 2014 1:32 PM in response to jams1361by sgreytak,I am having the same problem. My work uses Google Hangout for internal communications and now my camera doesn't work. Worked fine before I upgraded to 10.9.1 - now - nothing. Keeps telling me I have to allow the plugins, well the plugins are all marked 'allow'. Screwed. Hello, Apple!!

Jan 19, 2014 10:14 AM in response to jams1361by JohnEunique,I have same issue where Skype camera is not recognized (black screen) plus beachballing on a brand new MBA where we upgraded to 10.9 when transferring from old laptop. Restart will allow skype camera to be shown in preferences, but as soon as I launch Chrome with hangout video chat starting in browser, camera no longer available.
No idea to how to work around this.

Jan 20, 2014 5:48 PM in response to jams1361by elijah286,Same problem here on a new MacBook Air (13 inch mid 2013). Tried everything I can find, including reseting the SMC. Nothing has worked!
Apply is noticeably absent from the many forums on this issue. Very disappointing!!!!!
