hi, I made a mistake when I first connected my iphone to itunes and selected "set up as new device" instead of restore from back up. How do I go back to that step

See Erase your device Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings

Then...

Restore from Backup > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
