Q: Apple TV asks me to switch home share on my mac when it is already on, i have to switch home share off then on again on the mac which is ok cos it works I just downloaded latest software for apple tv so tv

Apple TV does not show my mac in computers when first switched on. It asks for me to enable home sharing on my mac but this is always the case it is already enabled on the mac, so i have to disable and re enable home sharing on the mac every time I want to watch a movie in itunes.

This stop and start home sharing does clear the problem but its a pain in the ***.

I have the latest apple TV software, but I have only had this problem since the latest software update. Pleas help me find a fix.

    Not a great answer...  Next time it happens instead of turning Home Sharing on and off I would try shuting off iTunes on the computer and then restarting iTunes.  If ATV can then connect to home sharing the problem is iTunes is hanging.  If that is the case my only idea is re-installing iTunes.

    OK , I SEEM TO HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION: FIRST SWITCH ON TV, & AMPLIFIER ( HOME SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM), TO THE APPLE TV  CONNECTION, THEN START APPLE TV LAST = SEEMS TO WORK THIS WAY. MAKE SURE MAC IS ON AND ITUNES IS ON FIRST!
