Is there a fix for the IOS html multi select bug?

Can anybody help me get around a possible IOS bug ? Visit this W3 website which is a simple choice on the right to pick 4 car types. After picking all 4 close the selection wheel and it changes your slection.

The option in the middle of the wheel is inverted when the selection wheel closes.

Just scroll to the middle of the list, do not pick any, and close the wheel. It selects one for you in error. Or select them all, then it removes the middle one on closing.

This seems to have been reported 6 years ago so there must be a work around people are using otherwise why has Apple not fixed this ?

Seems the link was removed from my post, so on your iPhone Google 'html multi select' and click the first link to the 3W site to see a standard multi select box and see if your iPhone has the bug.

After picking all 4 close the selection wheel and it changes your selection.

This will effect every site you visit with a multi select box so be very careful if your buying something from a list as you may end up getting more or less thatn what you expected.

Does anybody else see this bug ?

I have the exactly same issue. We're developing a service that's responsive and hence it adapts to mobile screens in a way that multiple checkboxes are shown as one option (dropdown) with 'multiple' added to it. Whenever you choose items and click done, one of the items is subtracted and therefore leading to n-1 results (where n is the amount of items selected.)

This is very annoying and introduces us a real usability problem as native html-element is not usable. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this apparently unwanted behavior?
