Returning an iPad without the box

I just bought 4 iPad Airs directly from Apple as Christmas gifts. They're still in the plastic.

One of those 4 is for my daughter, although I wanted to get her a Retina mini. Had I known the Mini would be released and available so soon, I would have bought 3 Airs and waited for the Mini. In any case, I ordered the Mini, and it will be here on Monday.

Unfortunately, my wife tossed all the Air boxes. Can I return the iPad Air to apple without the box for a refund, or am I stuck having to sell it or gift it...

Thanks

I would simply call your local Apple Store, explain your situation and find out first-hand. I doubt they would *require* the box but you never know. They will require all accessories than came inside the box though.

See the following page:

http://store.apple.com/us/help/returns_refund

Nowhere on the page does it mention needing the actual physical box for a return although as I mentioned above, they do state that they require all accessories and documentation that came *inside* the box.
