iPhone 4S problems after IOS 7.0.4 install

Also having trouble—iOS 7.0.4 is very sluggish on my iPhone 4S + iPad 3rd Gen. Battery life is abysmal since updating. Hope this is something that can be fixed soon...

Same problem occurred to me: after 7.0.4 update, my 4s has very short battery life (4 or 5 hours stand by) and become warm...

I'm thinking about a downgrade to 7.0.3.

Yes ,Had same problems, dropped calls no one could hear me but i could hear them, apps were crashing,sluggish,finger detection slow..i was ready to make a g bar appt..

but said i'll try a complete reset, erase phone in other words!

did a restore from a earlier back up ,oct.2013

Wow got my phone back! no more dropped calls, runs very smooth,fast, and got almost a gig of space back...

Same here, 4s battery life is very very poor. Need to buy another cellular if they don't fix it soon - there is no way to work with it in this condition. How to downgrade to 7.0.3?? I also experience a shorter battery life with my iPad Mini.. don't they test before release? -.-

Ditto. Went from charging every other day to charging every day. I wait for my phone to die completely down before I recharge it. I checked my email this morning then put it to sleep… checked it 20 minutes later and it had gone down by 9%. Just sitting there asleep!! Why?

My first iPhone 5s had to be returned because it was a lemon. The second one was fine for about a week and a half. Now I'm kicking myself for having downloaded that stupid update!

Ive got also the same battery problem. ive 2 iPhone 4S after installing ios 7.0.4 de factory unlocked one shut down at 6 up to 10% battery remaining. The other iphones 4s wich is locked on t-mobile works fine, so i really dont know what is wrong, apple pls try to fix that issue for me, new update..

I myself hav an iPhone 4S and can confirm the alarm clock not working properly after the update. Battery life has shifted from bad to worse. Hope it gets resolved quick.

A friend with iPhone 5 does not have these troubles at all after upgrading to 7.0.4. It looks like it is only valid for the 4S.

I found a "solution" that works for me but isn't really great.

I tested a couple of different configurations, reset and so on. The battery life is nearly the same like in 7.0.3 until I set up the IMAP connection to my third-party email provider. From this moment on it goes like 1% every ten minutes. When I set up the third-party email provider via POP3 and push every 15min it's almost the same. Although the device should go to standby again after fetching emails, it looks like it stays "active" which can be seen at the Usage.

In 7.0.3 my Usage was like 5hrs on screen time at 60 hrs standby until I needed to recharge. In 7.0.4 it was 15hrs on screen time at 18hrs standby - and I didn't change the way I actually used the device!

My solution was to set up the POP3 connection to the third-party email provider on manual.

Now the Usage displayed is more or less like in 7.0.3 again - but it is really annoying to check for emails manually.

Maybe this solution could also work for you. Feedback would be great.

This seems to be an issue limited to 4s, I've friends using 4 and don't seem to have problem. What I could find is when 4s device is connected to Internet I.e. Via cellular data or Wi-fi battery life is poor with maximum usage up to 4 hours an stand by time to 6 hours or less.

Issue with battery draining seems to be resolved, just tried resetting phone by pressing home and power together until it shuts down and Apple logo appears.

I've monitored this for week and found to be working fine with no more battery issue, thank you for steps above and others on similar discussion for tips.
