Dual display 2560x1600 crossover 3020MDP

I am currently looking for new monitors to support the awesome retina display.

I've read countless of articles, but no one have really covered what I am looking for.

Is there anyone out there who have tried the Crossover 3020MDP or 30Q5 displays with displayport to thunderbolt ports on a macbook pro retina?

The ebay seller says this:

"Macbook, Laptops and On-Board graphics cards could NOT be compatible.

Please check display port of graphic card for compatibility with Monitor,

Because monitor be unable to support all display ports of your PC."

Which makes me a bit worried. But since the Dell 30" screen have no real problem running on the macbook pro retina, neither should another brand have, right?

comparing the prices, the crossover beats the s**t out of Dell monitors with almost half the price.

Any advice would be helpful.

I am using a macbook pro 13" retina

i5 - 2,4 Ghz

16gb ram

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 16gb ram, i5-2,4Ghz

It sure looks like it to me. The path some users take is to use adapters to get to the more familiar DVI connector. That path is fraught with peril for displays over 1920 wide.

If you possibly can, you want to go straight from the Computer's ThunderBolt/Mini DisplayPort to the full-sized DisplayPort on the display in one cable, NO adapters.

Check MonoPrice for those cable -- they have them for cheap.

Yeah, I am more interested in getting the highest resoluton rather than the most common adapter ^^,

I will go with a DP to mini DP cable, wasn't very expensive on ebay.

Hopefully I will have great success in using two of these monitors.

One another note.

I am currently using a Dell U2713hm monitor with a displayport to HDMI cable connected, (DP to macbook and HDMI to screen). I don't seem to be able to have a higher output than 1920x1080, any idea why that is?

I was under the infulence that it would support up to 2560x1600, the Dell screen can support up to 2560x1440.

Cheers

HDMI converts directly to Single-Link DVI (no conversion required). Single-Link DVI supports up to 1920 wide, slightly taller than 1080p which is only 1080 tall.

This MacBook pro HDMI port supports up to 1920x1200 via HDMI.
