Dumping Pages 5: Re-Installing Pages 4

Here's the work around:

Delete Pages 5 from you applications folder.

Go to Time Machine to a date before you updated to Pages 5. Restore Pages 4.

When asked to do the upgrade, don't do it.

Perhaps this will buy us all time until Apple decideds to make Pages 5 backward compatible.

Remember that Pages 4.3 is kept when you upgrade to Pages 5, so unless the user removed Pages 4.3, there's no need to do what you suggest.
