Q: How do I store video clips on an external hard drive, using iMovie 10.0?

I am running out of storage space on my MacBook Air.  I need to store my video clips on an external hard drive. But I see no way in the new iMovie to do this. Any ideas, please?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

iMovie stores your Events and Projects into a Library, and that's usually located in your home folder under Movies:

Thank you!  Very helpful!  Next question: Any idea why I the clips are not showing up in the library?  Instead of an image, I am getting blue squares or rectangles where a picture ought to be.
