HP 4890 cannot store files

This is absolutely nuts that after upgrading from 10.8 to 10.9 some software is no longer working.

HP Scan 2.4.3 (3) cannot store any longer scanned filed nor send it by e-mail or print a pdf.

What is the marketing idea behind Apple to BLOCK standard functionality?

Because I'm dependent on this function the only way for me is to work now with Win-XP!

Does anybody have a solution for this error?

I wonder how the community would react if that happens to MICROSOFT.

For scanning, there's a workaround.

Try using the Image Capture app in your Applications folder for scanning.

Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.

Launch Image Capture.

Click the very small black box User uploaded file bottom left side of the Image Capture window.

You'll see this pop up menu: Connecting this (device) opens:

You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Imort To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to.
