I am thinking about buying an Apple TV for my parents, so we can share photos of our daughter with them.
They don't have any other apple devices - yet - will I be able to share with them, if they setup a iTunes account via iTunes?
You can setup an Apple ID for them but to use iCloud (Photo Stream) their Apple ID has to be used on an iOS device even if you sign them in activate it and sign back out.
The answer is yes. You can create Shared Photo Streams that can be viewed on Apple TV after their Apple ID is activated with iCloud.
