Apple TV Mirroring Disconnects

Both my iMac and my Apple TV software are up to date.

In the last hour, the Apple TV Airplay mirroring has disconnected over three times. The movie will continue playing on my iMac but the Apple TV reverts to the Apple TV homescreen. I'm not really sure where to look to fix this issue.

AppleTV 2, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

You are having a network bandwith issue which is not uncommon with AirPlay over WiFi. Too much to expalin, but AirPlay is a VERY complexe and resouce intesive way to connect. It will work much better to select the movie you want to play from the ATV menus and play it there.
