Q: 7.0.4 problems

I should have known better than to upgrade my ipad but that red 1 on my screen drives me nuts...If I get this fixed I want to figure a way to never update or show updates again... I tried upgrading and after a restart it said unable to install update...I tried connecting to itunes and then it said unable... It tried to restart and then got stuck with connect to itunes screen...the only option you have is cancel or restore and update...unfortuatly it can't update....Ipad is usless at this point...I really need it ....Please help somebody.....

I need to be able to restore this without updating since the update won't install...From what I've gathered that can't be donr if the device is in recovery mode...Is this correct??? What can be done??? is my ipad trash because of a stupid update???

I should call Apple but I'm thinking now wouldn't be a good time...I won't be nice :[ !!!!!!!

that just gets me to the itunes window that says the device is in recovery mode...I was already there...My problem is that itunes insists on recovery and update at the same time...the update wont work on my ipad for some reason so Im stuck in recovery loop hades

The only reason the update would not work would be if you had an iPad 1, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Just try it again using the recommended options, and if you continue to have problems, post back and perhaps we can help you resolve them.

I have tried it about 10 times now...restarting the macbook, powering down the ipad and trying again...I keep getting the same error...unable to update...It's an Ipad2 .... Verizon CDMA/WIFi....

Powering down is not the same as rebooting as in my post. Have you tried this yet?

by rebooting if you mean holding both buttons until you see the apple .... yes.... many times,.... I also tried the dfu mode and attempted to install OS that way, then tried anothe rcomputer, this time a windows computer, no luck there either.... I get the 3194 error on the windows computer.... I gave up went to bed .... gonna try some more laer this even ....any other suggestions would be appreciated..... thanks

ive now tried dfu and then a restore with another file from inet and this is what i get...please help me someone...I have a 500 paperweight...I need an ipad....

i tried deleting the file in library,itunes,ipadupdate and restoring again.... it went through the process then had this error

Since your device is in dfu mode already
download the ipsw corresponfing with your device
in this case you have an ipad 2 so you download ipad 2+wifi
ipad(2,1) is the 32g and the (2,4) is the 16g

if you have an ipad 2 cellular you have to know if its cdma or gsm
cdma sprint verizon
gsm at&t tmobile

after download connect your device to itunes
You can use IPSW files on Mac or Windows, both require iTunes to work properly.
Connect your iPhone or iOS device to your computer
Select the device in iTunes
On a Mac, hold down the “Option” key and then click on "restore"
On a Windows PC, hold down “SHIFT” key and then click on "restore"
Select the IPSW file you downloaded and click “Choose”
Let the iOS device update as usual

THIS IS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WILL REPORT
