Dec 4, 2013 2:47 PM in response to hgschulzby mac dave,This is exactly my situation as well, except my original iMac is a 2009 model. I am doing this over ethernet, and everything works exactly as expected until the target iMac tries to find all the items. Then as you say, the target iMac goes back to login. Maddening.

Dec 10, 2013 2:15 PM in response to hgschulzby rrr_ruby,I have same situation trying to migrate from a MacBook Pro 13" late 2011 to an iMac 3.06 (2010-11?)...
My softwares on both are up to date (on Maverick).
(We have just done the same from the iMac 3.06 (2010-11) to new 27" iMac three days ago and worked like a dream... everything worked.)
Have set up new profile on iMac 3.06... still crashing on iMac whilst looking for data...
