Why does numbers attachment open as a zip file in iCal attachment?

I attach files in events created with iCal to remind me of work stuff. With the latest numbers release, numbers' file attachments I open on my iPad calendar show up as zip files, and I'm unable to view the spreadsheets. I don't know if I need to save them differently or if this is just something needing addressed in OS 7. The files open fine on our macs. Does anyone have any ideas to fix or work around this issue?

I confirm that this is a problem. Maybe the workaround until Apple fixes it is to export to Numbers '09 or print as a PDF and use that for the calendar event. I never used this feature of Calendar and it looks like you cannot add attachments in the iOS version of Calendar (or send an attachment from iOS Numbers to the iOS Calendar app) so perhaps they didn't think of this.
