After installing refilled cartridges, "no airprint printers found"
iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1
1. Turn the router, iPad and printer off
2. Turn on the router and then wait 30 seconds
3. Turn on printer and then wait 30 seconds
4. Turn on your iPad and test print.
Didn't work for me. Even though the printer works fine with the refilled cartridges, the ink level still shows low. I can't find a way to reset the cartridge chips. I'm wondering if AirPrint functionality is tied to ink level?
You must use original ink cartridge on certain brand of printer or else they will not work.
I can use EPrint and send what I want to print to my printer's email address, and the result is good. But after following all the troubleshooting suggestions, including multiple router, printer, and iPad re-boots, I still get "no airprint printers found". This happened after I installed refilled cartridges, and after I upgraded to IOS 7.0.4
I guess the only way to know for sure is to buy a set of genuine cartridges, install them, and try it again. Let us know if that works.
I'm going to do that, although it might be cheaper and probably a surer fix to junk the HP Photosmart 5520, and buy a new printer of some other brand. Anybody got any recommendations?
I find it more cost effective to operate a mono laser printer.
Just bought a Samsung ML-2165W for less than US$100.
I bought an Epson for around $65 a few years back and it was not in the list of Airprint printers once I got my iPad. I did find an article on the 'net on how to make it work, though, and it worked like a charm getting it connected. I've been very pleased with the performance of the Epson.
