Quicktime lags on Macbook Air

Hey, i have a problem with Quicktime player on my Macbook Air (mid 2012). When i try to make a video with my Locitech webcam pro c920, it lags at 4 seconds. I can't make a video.

Please help me!

Which is it? Can you NOT make any video recording, or does a video recording you can make lag?

Have you restarted Mac and checked that your disk has lots of free space? Do you have any other applications open while you are recording?

Make a short (< 4 seconds) test recording. Does audio lag the video, or do you mean that the video lags real time in the QT monitor window during recording? If the latter, play back the test recording to see if the sound and video are reasonably close together. (There may be some small lag.) If so, try a longer recording and see if the playback results are the same.

If you see a lag during recording but not during playback, you may simply be noticing the QT logic that gives preference to saving a good recording over good monitoring of video recording.

If you need more suggestions, tell us which specific Mac OS you use, which QuickTime version, and how much free space is available on your MBA's hard disk. Also tell us whether you are recording directly into the MBA's disk or to an external or networked disk.
