Hi, Kilopopo!

My G4 QS 2002 logic board measures 11.5" X 9.75", with the shorter side edge running front to rear; that is, running parallel to the AGP & PCI slots. Please note that the AirPort Card chassis (PCI Card Guide) is not on the logic board, but is mounted in front of it, with the connection being made to the connector at the front edge of the board, which might also be a consideration, since you would need additional clearance to mount a card there.

My QS 2002 PSU measures 6" high X 3 7/8" wide X 5 1/2" deep. I don't know the dimensions of the MDD PSU, but it is quite different from mine.

Here's a link to a modding forum thread with a picture and dimensions of an AGP Graphics G4 logic board. Note the black Airport connector, next to the beige ribbon cable connector for the optical drive bus.

Here's a download link to a G4 service manual (10.9MB zipped pdf), which has take-apart instructions and exploded view, etc. Here's another one for the MDD and FW 800 G4 service manual (1.9MB zipped pdf). Note that these links will initiate a download from my iDisk when you click on either of them. They don't give dimensions, but you may find them helpful.

The towers, as far as I know, include the AGP Graphics/Digital Audio/Gigabit Ethernet models (I believe they use the same form factor, correct me if I'm wrong). Then there's the Quicksilver and Mirrored Drive Door models. (Both being seperate form factors I believe)

Do know I just took an educated guess with that. You should wait until someone who knows more in this area can come along and confirm it.

Hi, Kilopopo -

The first one is a G4 MDD (Mirrored Drive Door) model.

***

The second is a G4 DP 500MHZ model, as noted on the page. That is a G4 Gigabit Ethernet model. That exterior case design was used by the B&W G3 as well as the G4 (PCI), G4 (AGP), G4 (GE), and G4(DA) models. Externally the only difference between the G# B&W and those original G4's was the color.

Exception - the back panels on the models are different. This Apple KBase article shows the differences for the above G4 models -

The third one is, as noted on the page, a QuickSilver model.

You can look up any Mac model at this site; all pages include pictures of the various models -

Fully interchangeable cases

B&W G3 and PCI G4

AGP G4 and Gigabit Ethernet G4

Digital Audio G4 and Quicksilver G4 ( even with cosemetic differances still basically identical phyically/mechanically )

MDD ---> FW800 but not the reverse due to extra FW connector ( but the rear panel can be swapped )

G5 and intel processor Mac developer prototype ( though Apple presumably called these all back in and swaped for intel based iMacs )

B&W G3 and all G4 cases are all "el Capitan" variants, outside of the original/compact case the longest running Mac form factor
