Made photobook; when ordering receive error message

I have successfully ordered two books through iPhoto and am now ordering one and after assembling, while transferring the files, it says: An error occurred while uploading one of your files. Please check your network connection and click Retry to resend your file.
My internet connection is fine and when I try to Retry, it just freezes and doesn't do anything else until I cancel.
Help!?

I have the exact same problem. Same error message and everything. I didn't have any problems until I upgraded to iPhoto 6. I also use Aperture and there are no problems ordering. (I've even transferred the iPhoto files to Aperture and ordered from that site, no problem.) In some cases, however, I prefer the books on iPhoto.

I've trashed and reinstalled iPhoto 6 and that has not helped.

Please help!!! I have an awesome book that I've been working on for months.

I had trouble with this, too. One particular book I just finished would not upload and would always say an error occurred while transferring. I called Apple Support and they did solve the problem and my book went through. Here is what they told me to do: (maybe it will work for you, too). Go to "Home" and open "Library". Then open "Preferences" and trash two things: the "By Host" folder and the "com.apple.iPhoto.plist". Now go back to Library and open up "Caches". Trash the iPhoto folder.

This solved my problem and all those items will rebuild themselves. Good luck.

Hello all,
I too was getting error msg after going through upload process for photo book. What I did that corrected this was to "DELETE" all blank pages after last photo page; except back of last page and back cover. This cured upload problem.
You would think Apple would explain in their instructions, that blank pages
cause uploading problems. Good news is that after deleting last 15 blank pages, the cost of book dropped considerably...

I am having the same problem. I have made 2 books - small ones since upgrading to iPhoto 6 and have had no problems. But the current book is large, hardbound, 100 pgs and I am getting the same error message. I've tried the suggested trashing of host, plist, and caches with no effect. Any other suggestions? Do you think it's the length of the book or some other issue?

I have been having this problem as well. I called Apple tech support they put me on with several people and promised to call me back. They never did! Even Apple does not know how to resolve this issue!!

I made a PDF of the book I made and went to LULU.com (or Blurb)and printed a book from them. There are also several other places besides Apple that you can make books. I love Apple but I will go elsewhere until it is resolved.

December 2006 MacWorld lists several other companies that will print books. Good luck.

I am a new Apple Imac owner. Left the PC world. First time using the Mac and IPhoto. I too get the same error message and have tried to make several different books to no avail. Apple support could give me no help. Frustrating for a new owner. I am glad that I am not alone, but frustrated that I cannot order the product that I want. I have used Mpix in the past with great success. They are currently in the process of opening up a book page that I am awaiting.

Go to www.mypublisher.com and download their plug in. Then click buy book in iphoto and you will go directly to the my publisher website and you can order the book without problems. They will give you a coupon code for 50% off the order for downloading the plug in. I just tried that and was able to avoid the error message. This is the same publishing house that apple uses if you order directly through them! Hopefully the book will turn out great... at least I was able to order it. I tried the other suggestions and they didn't work. Good luck!

I have finally figured out the problem I was having with sending books. I have been in contact with an Apple Specialist consultant who had me try several things. He was suspcious from the start that it was my connection. We tried an ethernet connection instead of wirelss - no difference. So must be the modem. Took the computer to a friends and sent from there. First time wouldn't go - so just for kicks we changed the apple acct info from mine to my husbands. It sent. This is what we determined. Your apple acct info sometimes stops it from sending - if the books transfers all the way to the end before the error message comes up this could be the problem. Change your information and try again. If the transfer stalls somewhere in the beginning, middle or end it may be your connection. Even if you have your server test the modem, it may test fine and still be the problem. Sometimes the phone cord going from the modem to the wall is the problem. Shorter lines, less problems. We found our modem is on the wimpy side. We are changing it out for a better one. So don't know if that'll work for anyone else, but it has solved our problems.
