iOS 7.0.4 has destroyed my WiFi connectivity.

Ever since I updated my iPhone 5 with the 7.0.4 version, I can no longer use WiFi anywhere. Not even on my home router which I've been connected to for over 3 years. I have reset the phone, restored from iTunes backup, restarted the router etc etc. Nothing works.

It seems like the problem is solved for me now. Here's my story. The first thing I did was a full restore of the iPhone5S from iCloud. Still the problem persisted, the iPhone constantly dropped connection with my WiFi network. A reset of the network settings normally solved the issue for an hour or so (or a day if you were lucky).

After consulting with Apple Support (very friendly staff indeed) I performed a full factory reset of the iPhone5S but the result continued being depressing. I now started to focus on the router (Asus RT-AC66U). My first step was to upgrade it to its latest firmware, no change. The iPhone still couldn't keep the connection to the WiFi network.

But... A full factory reset of the router however seems to have fixed the issue. So, I have now full 48 hours (and counting) without a single glitch in the connectivity with my WiFi network.

Still I have absolutely no clue why this have resolved the connectivity issues. All my other IOS devices (even an iPhone 5 running 7.0.4) have never had any of these issues.

just to rephrase my problem, the wifi switch on the settings section is grayed out and the bluetooth switch keeps spinning all the time {like its on action of pairing}

the toggle screen can switch on the wifi and bluetooth however on the settings screen it doesnt switch on.

This is a serious issue wherein th software not able to sustain the hardware

i am having a 4s with 7.0.4

i dont think that apple does any stress test on prior released phones for the latest software, they expect us to keep up with the hardware if software upgrade is so exitingly talked about during releases.

my take apple will stay this way and i conclude that the above discussions and replies are a mixture of different problems although the thread we are discussing this is

iOS 7.0.4 has destroyed my WiFi connectivity.

I second the opinion of all those who are facing this issue. I am facing the same WiFi issue Unable to join the network "mywifinw" even after trying all the solutions suggested in this thread. I also went to iRepair centre, they did "Reset Network Settings", it worked in their Centre. I came back to my office and it worked once. I went out of station and came back to office, it does not work. I tried all possible solutions again, it is still not working. Is anyone from Apple support centre reading these messages? is anyone from APPLE is trying to solve this problem? is this the quality of iOS that we need to expect from APPLE? I hope I get a solution. I have never heard such a problem in the Samsung smartphones that my friends are using. Such a simplest WiFi breaking is ridiculous.

Thought i was the only one with this issue... Was hoping there was a fix already 😟.

i Use this phone for IT alot and need wireless to walk round and test accesspoint strenghts around an area...

Tried it all, network reset without sim. full reset and a restore...

Wireless sometimes can switch on but nothing shows and something you cant switch it on. Other times when i go into settings it freezes the phone for abit...homescreen also doesnt respond to touch when someone phones....

Really was one of the best phones and now on par with a cheap samsung corby...

So many people experiencing the same thing it cant be a coincidence?

btw i have an Iphone 4S.

ok so now i fixed the problem with my iphone when i changed the signal from 2,4 ghz to 5 on a router / modem that supported that and this worked. So the downside is that behind this router / modem is my real network with two access points (sitecom) and these router APN's do not support 5 ghz range so i cannot get this to work with my iphone 5.

now the other strange thing is at my work i have no problems and that signal is also on the 2,4 ghz band so .... am am still confused... and before ios 704 it all worked fine.

My girlfriend is having the same issue with her new 5s. Says it's connected to wifi but just hangs in Safari or at best will load pages painfully slow.

No issues on the same router at all with her old 4S, MacBook, or my Moto X.

Tried all the tricks and workarounds last night except setting the router to WEP. Will try that tonight or else headed to the Apple store to exchange hardware.

Just noticed I have this same WiFi problem on my iPhone 4 newly upgraded to ios 7.0.4. When I recently added two new wireless access points and tried to configure them I noticed my iPhone would not connect to either the new APs or my old AP which the iPhone used to happily connect to. I can't see this as a hardware problem because the radio is alive enough to figure out whether or not the network password is correct or not so it must be transmitting and receiving. However when establishing the connection I just get the wait spinner and it never completes the connection. None of the recommended fixes changes anything. Every other wireless device I have is working just fine on all APs, including my old iPad running ios 5.1.1. This is really dissapointing to have my WiFi bricked like this. It turns me off on Apple that such an important feature is messed up by a dot.dot level upgrade and that Apple hasn't fixed it in a timely way given that it appears to affect a lot of people and has gotten a lot of press. Maybe it's time to move to Android like the other members of my family.

Yep, just bought a brand new iPhone 5S 64GB, brought it home, did a restore from an iTunes backup from my old iPhone 4S, everything looked good, up and running, then try to get it to connect to WiFi and couldnt. Tried the Network Settings Reset, turning the phone on and off countless times, turning WiFi on and off countless times. Messed around with my router a bit, but with TONS of other devices working just fine in my house via WiFi including my iPad Air thats running iOS 7.0.4 I have a hard time believing it has anything to do with my router or its settings.

iOS 7.0.4 has destroyed my WiFi connectivity.
