AirDrop only works with other iOS devices as spelled out here:

Thanks for replying. I forgot one detail and that was Airdrop sharing between 2 iPhone 5Ss. I discovered that both phones must not be off or in the sleep mode.

Cant be true because Airdrop is on the Mac now. Problem is my MacBookPro doe snot see iPhone 5S or vice versa.
