Q: reset user password, plez help

Some how my Admn user ID password is wrong...I cant download any software, etc....

I dont know what to do..the help pages say I can link my computer user to my apple ID, but cant find a spot to do that either!!

Not very techy....

Plez help.......

    A starting point is http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6022 and if that does not help, the long way is to restart holding the Command and R keys, select Utilities, then Terminal.  In the Terminal type, exactly,

     

    resetpassword

     

    And press Return or Enter.  When the reset password window opens select the user for which you want to change the password, the admin account in this case.  Enter the new password twice, save, accept the dialog that opens, then apply to the home directory.  When finished go to theApple on the menu and select restart.
