Password to unlock your ipad backup ... What password? It's not my iTunes ID.

I have a new iPad and want to sync it and retrieve the back up. The Getting Started wizard asks for a backup password. If I had one, it would be the same as my iTunes ID.

Tells me the password is incorrect

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 7.0.4

If your backup is password protected, it means at one time you selected to encrypt your backup.
