My iPhone 4 is stuck on the "Connect to iTunes screen" after trying to update to iOS 7.0.4! Help!

I was attempting to update my iPhone 4 to the new iOS 7.0.4 via my computer after I plugged it in to create a backup copy and something went wrong before it could finish and I recieved an error message. Now my phone is stuck on the "Connect to iTunes screen". I've tried everything to reset & restore my phone with no luck!

I have:

-Restarted my computer

-Updated iTunes to most current version

-Turned phone on and off several times, waiting up to a half hour before turning on (to be greeted directly with apple logo then the connect to iTunes screen)

-Turned on, turned on and held home button (nothing happens)

-My computer is NOT recognizing my device at ALL! But when I plugged my boyfriends iPhone in, it detected it no problem.

I tried calling my phone from the other phone and it goes straight to voicemail. I am super frustrated! Does anybody know what is going on?

Last night I tried to update to IOS 7.0.4 and I am having the same problem. I have tried to restore my iphone via itunes and I keep get a message saying " The software for the iphone "iphone" was corrupted during download." "Disconnect and reconnect, then try again. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later. Please tell me how to fix this. I definitely need my phone to work.

I was able to restore my phone!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

I called Apple and they said there was nothing more I could do. I called my carrier Verizon and was able to get my computer to recognize my device after trying this-

Solution:

After trying EVERYTHING this is the ONLY thing that worked-

I took the USB connector cable out of the USB port it was in, and tried another one on the otherside of my laptop and iTunes was able to discover my phone in recovery mode. My phone was reset and everything is fine ( thank gosh for backup copies!)

Ok I got out of it. I found a way which worked without restoring my iphone: all the data is intact and it works again! 😁

Here is how it works (at least for me) for Windows linked ipHones (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QANy0X_EoD4):

  1. Get redsnow latest version: https://sites.google.com/a/iphone-dev.com/files/home/redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3.zip?at tredirects=0&d=1
  2. Install it on your computer
  3. Start redsnow: You should see "Connected: iphone recovery mode" otherwise go to point 4
  4. Get your iphone to be recognized: try restart your computer, try restart Apple mobile services as described here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvesSnz-BGA), try cycling through DFU/ restore/ DFU/restore mode (google DFU mode for iphone: remember DFU = black screen, restore mode = connecting cable on screen), connect it to an Apple Laptop and get it recognized but don't restore it....one of these solutions will work...just try again and again....for me cycling through DFU/restore mode helped
  5. If the connection message appears in the lower part of the starting screen of redsnow, you are close to success; hit the "extras" button
  6. Hit the "recovery fix" button and ignore the next message (just hit ok)
  7. Your iphone will reboot out of the recovery mode without restoring it: you will find all your data intact!!!

Last advice; use the original download link I mentioned above, the other one mentioned on the youtube link contains some "crapware" with a lot of viruses (e-set)....however I must agree with the last message written by the ITXtutor on the youtube link!!! 👿

THIS ACTUALLY HELPED ME!! THANK YOU! 😀😀

I did something else too. I couldn't start iTunes with my iphone connected to the computer. So I disconnected it, started iTunes, en THEN I connected the iPhone (in a different USB port). It was like magic! Everything started working. My iphone was restored to its masics and then I was asked to restore from iCloud or iTunes

IMPORTANT: hope you backed up your iPhone previously, otherwise there won't be anything to backup 😐

Good luck everyone!
