The easiest way I know to recover photos missing from your Mac is from your latest backup that still has the data.

If you mean from your iPhone, the best iDea I can suggest is iOS: How to back up and restore your content.

try to back up your iPhoto Library, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and use the resulting first aid window to rebuild yoru database

I think your photo's are copied but iPhoto was still updating it's database.

So I would first assure that my photo's are safe by checking the photo's in the iphoto library:

-Go to Finder

-Go to Pictures

-Locate the iPhoto-Library

-With right-click, click on "show packetcontents"

-You are now in your iPhoto library, be carefull!

-Locate the folder "Masters"

-Chose the wright date

-Locate your photo's and copy them to a safe location

-If you can't find them, I think you are not lucky.

In case they do appear rebuild your database of iPhoto and see if they appear. In case they don't appear you can re-add them.

Wow, the above answers about how to get back the lost pictures of iPhone sound very useful. However, I have some more tips to add here.

1 - deleting from an album only deletes from that album - the photos are still in the event they came from

2 - with iPhoto '09 when you delete from an event the photo goes to the iPhoto trash - you can select it there, right click and "put back" so that you can recover deleted photos from iPhone.

3 - having no backup is not a smart idea - bad things happen and with no backup sooner or later you will lose everything including all of your photos - you should get a large external drive and begin running iPhone Data Recovery or other backup system immediately if your photos and other data has any value to you.

I just deleted my photos on iPhone,so I think there are still pics in iTunes because I get used to syncing iPhone with iTunes. However, when I connect my iPhone to computer.....Why can not find my backup files????

Amazing how every couple of days some new signs up and then copies the piece with the link to the spam application and writes some irrelevant mock question under it. Always a first time poster, always copies and pastes the chunk with the link even though it has zero relevance to their "query". This is sock puppet spam for an app based stolen open source software.

I managed to find the photos that I imported. However, the ones that I didn't import are completely missing from my camera roll and also aren't in iPhoto because I didn't choose to import them. I don't understand why the ones that I didn't even choose to import are gone! HELP!

Please start a new thread and include details like versions of iPhoto, of the OS, what happened, what the exact problem is, etc

I had been syncing my iPhone to my Powerbook, but then my Powerbook got completely immersed in salt water (apparently that's not very good for them.) So now I'm syncing my iPhone to my Mini. I had everything but the photos on my Powerbook backed up, so I didn't lose any of that info and restored it all to my Mini. But here's the glitch:

I've got a 150+/- photos on the phone that are no longer on a computer. I'd like to import them into iPhoto before I allow it to sync with my phone, so I don't lose them. When I pop the phone into the cradle the only photos I can import are the ones I've taken with my phone, which are mostly of my knee, for some reason.

Any ideas?

You can only import photos by importing to iPhoto that are in the camera roll, not synced photos. Save the synced photos to your camera roll or send them per mail to your mac.

You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:

1. Email them from the device to yourself.
2. Copy them from the emails to your computer.

Great news! You can stream them back to your phone by adding them to a shared stream and inviting yourself as a subscriber, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99.

Alternatively, you can use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to the camera roll on your phone over your wifi.

According to Apple, the photos get backed up in iTunes when you do a sync/backup, so connect your phone to iTunes and restore from the latest backup.

BUT It's not a good idea to restore the whole iTunes backup file, because it can wipe all of your iPhone data including the messages, videos, calendars etc.

Alternative, iPhone Data Recovery will be a better choice. It can preview and selectively recover the deleted photos on iPhone what you want and not influence other data.
