Why does my iphone 5 redirect to the App Store when I'm on Facebook or safari?

Everytime I'm scrolling on facebook through the news feed or just scrolling through google, my iphone opens up the App Store to clash of titans or some random game? My phone is not modded in any way. I reset it and everything and it still processing the problem. Does anyone know why this is happening?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

I am having the same issue, it started with browsing sites through Facebook now it's just for any random site that uses this App Store exploit. Btw Thomas you are the most unhelpful person I have come across. This is a seriously disturbing lack of oversight in apple security/ permission structure or there is an unknown cause. Either way I would like it resolved or for it to at least ask to redirect to the App Store and the option to turn it off !

I did as stated, but changing the blocking to never did not change my problem. Changing the blocking to always did fix the problem ( as of now) The problem started a few weeks ago. Anytime I used Safari and a game called First 11 ?( soccer game) was advertised on the site visited, I would be directed to the App store. I did not touch the phone accidentily. I did not even touch the screen. On Cheezburger, the redirect would happen on every page. This happened on LTE and wifi ( secure and unsecured). Changing the blocking to Always works for me.

I have been experiencing the same issue for months now, but I'm not a big Facebook user so that is not the core visited site for me. I tend to agree this may (most likely) be a java issue. I find that I'm often redirected from the website bmxmuseum.com to a stupid game (pet rescue sage or candy something) or some other lame game. The website subscribes to (google ads) and seams to have a tracking presence due to the types of ads that acclimated the website when visiting. However the virus (if that is what it is) always redirects me to the same stupid game. Totally annoying to say the least. Apple please get it together and fix this issue.

i'm having the same issue. whenever i click to read an article in my facebook app (no matter if it goes to ew.com, cnn.com or somewhere else), i get redirected to the app store to buy "LOVOO". it's really annoying and i can't read the articles. found out if i keep touching the screen i'm only getting redirected once i move my finger away. but that is still not a solution. tried shutting of javascript, that didn't help.

can someone please tell me how to fix this??

I've found what seems to be a workaround for this problem, which has been driving me nuts.

If you go into your settings, into safari and then change 'block cookies' to never this seems to stop it happening. I've had a couple of alerts pop up telling me everyone is playing jelly splash but haven't actually been redirected since the change and you can just cancel the alert.

Having just rechecked further up thread though I see this hasn't helped another poster though so I don't know if this will keep working for me although it seems to at the moment.

I think I have resolved, it would happen after every 5 minutes in safari but has stopped happening for more than 10 minutes now.

The fix I did

Settings -> Safari -> clear cookies and data ( you would loose data saved by the pages but you should be able to re-enter as and when needed, shouldn't be an issue )

Alternatively you can only delete the data saved by any sites suspicious to you.

Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> wen site data -> Edit and then delete the sites that have some unknown or suspicious name , hope it helps

Johnny Octane, the game is Candy Crush. I know because I'm in the same boat as you -- even though I rarely use Facebook, other sites repeatedly redirect me to the App Store, usually in an attempt to sell the Candy Crush game to me, which I have no interest in. And as another user on this board pointed out, this happens at random intervals, even when I definitely have not clicked on any links.

good news, no thanks to apple or this forum... i have found a fix:

Install this ad_blocker - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/weblock-adblock-for-ios/id558818638?mt=8

(possibly not available in all apple itunes regions)

and believe it or not you do not get the redirects anymore! (unfortunately only works on WIFI connections 😝 )

Thanks forum and thanks apple ... not!

Brilliant. That's like blaming your car manufacturer because you got a speeding ticket.

Don't go to questionable links in Facebook and you wouldn't have this problem, which was already explained multiple times. Many solutions were given. So, from all the members who tried to help, but you cotinued to ignore, You're Welcome.
