Library cannot be saved. Error (-50)

I have updated my iTunes to the most recent version. This is an ongoing issue.

I keep getting errors, one of the most annoying though is this

Your iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unknown error has occurred. (-50)

Windows 8 machine

8 Tb HDD

32 Gb RAM

I have plenty of space and speed so I don't understand why this keeps happening.

Within a few minutes of receiving this error, iTunes crashes and I have to re-boot to get it to run again.

WTH? This isn't Microsoft. Doesn't Apple TEST their software?

iTunes crashes every time I try to sync my iPhone 4 or my iPad 2 as well. My libraries are so jacked up because of it that I don't have a clean version to restore from. I have duplicate copies of music, apps, books, etc. IT IS RIDICULOUS!
