While my ipod touch got a screen replacement something happened.

My iPod Touch recently was sent to a repair mechanic to get a screen replacement. They called me back the next day saying the motherboard of the iPod had been broken while in repair. Thay also said they cannot replace this piece in the iPod. Do you think Apple will give me a replacement iPod because of this?
