Today I updated - thru itunes- my iphone4, and restored backup, but am stuck in recovery loop and phone screen says "connect to itunes" or "connected to itunes". I tried turning the phone off and on. Still stuck. Help, please?

(i'm updating iphone 4 with imac) Update seemed to go ok. After I clicked on restore backup, setup screens started showing on phone, got in loop ending with "connect to itunes" or "connected to itunes".

I used the link you sent and the restore option it gives me is to restore to factory settings...

would it be best to do that, or to do "set up new iphone" on the setup screen that came up after update?

Sorry, I'm completely new to this type of forum... in your reply there's a line through the part of my message that says "would it be best to do that" - does that indicate that you are crossing out that option, or that your reply "do that" means "set up new iphone"? Many Thanks, AnaMusic! It worked. Now it's asking me for passwords for e-mail accounts, some which I had written down and some I hadn't, so I'll tackle that tomorrow. I greatly appreciate your help getting out of that loop. You're very generous!
