No Sound When Editing in iMovie

I recently upgraded to iMovie version 10.0. During editing, when I drag the cursor across a clip, there is no sound. I had experienced this problem before in earlier versions, and it was usually solved just be closing and reopening iMovie. But not anymore. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a fix? Thanks.
