Q: Since updating to OSX Mavericks, my airplay icon is missing

Since updating to OSX Mavericks my airplay icon is missing from my IMac (3.06GHZ).  However, it is present and working completely appropriately on my Macbook Pro with Retina display.  Both have the same OSX, Apple TV is fully updated.  I have reset my computers, appleTV, routers, iTunes multiple times, but it's just my IMac that is having the problems displaying the Airplay icon.  Not sure what else can be done or why one computer works while the other doesn't when the settings are otherwise the same.  Airplay worked on it without problem before the patch.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

If the troubleshooting steps in the article did not resolve, check the following:

Is the firewall in OSX enabled?  If so, either turn off or set to allow iTunes.

Is IPV6 enabled in the network settings?  Several users have reported needing to disable this feature for AirPlay to work.

    1) open control panel.

    2)Choose Network and internet

3)Select the VIEW NETWORK STATUS TASKS under NETWORK and SHARING CENTER section

    4) Choose the active network connection. It is usually name " wireless Network Connection 1" or something similiar.

    5) Click the properties button

    6) If the Internet PROTOCOL VERSION 6(TCP/IPv6) is checked, uncheck it, then click OK.

    7) Click CLOSE

    8) Restart iTunes and try to use the Home Sharing feature again.

I do not have the option to "uncheck" ipv6.

In network, wifi/advanced, TCP/IP, my configure IPv6 gives me options for: "Automatically, Manually, or Link Local Only".

I have two long strings right below for "IPv6 Address"

    How to turn this off?

thanks so much for your help... very frustrating!!!
