iPhoto cl_kernels plug-in failure notice?

My iPhoto program has started importing photos with lines through them and then crashes when I try to edit them. It gives me a message that it was a cl_kernels plug-in failure. Preview has also been exporting edited photos with the same lines in them. Does anyone know what I need to do? Thanks!

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

- What version of iPhoto.

- What version of the Operating System.

- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?

- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Here is the info you requested:

iPhoto 9.5

OS X 10.9

I will import a photo from my iPhone, digital camera, or digital file and what appeared normal on the original device file appears with crisscrossing lines. When I try to click Edit it momentarily shifts back to its normal appearance but then iPhoto crashes and gives me the cl_kernels plug-in failure warning. When I export the file from iPhoto back out it the image has the lines permanently. Photoshop cannot remove them.

The same problem occurs not matter what library I have open. A new library does the same thing as an old one.

I think this began with the latest OSX update.

The same problem is appearing when I open a file in Preview - it doesn't crash but it never displays the file correctly.
