External hard drive not recognized

Hey there all,

I cannot get my external hard drive to come up in my event library in Final Cut X. I can import files from the external but as it won't pop up in the event menu I can't save to it. Having read a lot of threads I have tried all the troubleshooting ideas I could find. The drive is the correct format (Mac OS Extended (Journaled), the event folders are at the root level, I repaired both my Mac HD and the external drive. Still no luck. I'm running out of ways to troubleshoot. Does anybody have any potential solutions? Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated.
