Display stays black after "cold"boot

Hi!
After two weeks of problemless working my MacBook starts to act strange. When I shut the machine completely down, let it stay for an hour or so and then boot it the display stays black. The Book starts for sure, I hear the startup sound and the harddrive spinning, the backlight goes on but the graphics don't. It's just a black screen.
Disconnecting the charger and taking out the battery and inserting it again helps, also does resetting the pram. But that can't be it.
What's interesting is that once the display works restarting the MB or totally shutting it down for a few minutes doesn't affect the proper function of the display. It's just when the computer is turned off for a longer time (e.g. over night).

Any ideas? Or am I just lucky in having improperly working displays all the time 😉

For a lot of people the trick seems to be to reset the pram a certain amount of times. Yesterday I gave it one more try, reset it 5 times in a row and hoped it helped. Started the machine today after shutting it down the evening before, black screen. Resetting pram once again and everything works.

There's a threat ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=559906) running parallel to this one concerning the same problem. For the original poster of the question the solution was to run Disk Utility, check for problems and repair disk permissions.
Neither of this works for me.
