Cloud storage for business!!
I am about to purchase my first Macbook Air for business purposes. And I would like to also purchase cloud storage of 3TB. They kept asking me for my serial number (which I do not have yet!) How can I go about this??

Firstly, you should be aware that the extra storage in iCloud is not for general file storage purposes, but for Backup, Mail, synced Calendar and Contacts data, Photo Journal and iWorkDocuments. And the maximum available is 50GB.
There are many other online file storage services - this page examines some of them:
You don't need your Mac's serial number for iCloud but you cannot purchase additional storage on the iCloud website, only on a iOS device or a Mac. Where exactly were you seeing this request for the serial number?
Hi Roger,
I am fairly new to the apple family other than having tried the iPad for general usage. So I was told that I can purchase online storage from Apple and that capacity was up to 3TB. Perhaps I was dubbed...
I was asked for the serial number when I tried to establish an online support chat.
Online Support chat is available for a limited period after a purchase and requires the serial number to validate it.
You cannot buy any online Storage from Apple other than the limited use additional storage in iCloud, and certainly not 3TB - you are going to have problems finding that anywhere, and it will take you weeks to upload that amount of data.
Dear Roger,
thanks much. Am clearer now 🙂
