JVC KDG720 USB Port

Hi. I am considering upgrading my factory cd player in my 2000 Honda Civic coupe for a JVC KDG720. This model is appealing to me for two reasons. One: It is satellite radio ready and Two: it has a USB port on the front of the face. Will my iPod be able to play through that USB port. I don't necessarily want to be able to control the iPod through the head unit, but will it play at all through the head unit's USB port. It says it is iPod ready. Thanks for your time!

The JVC will play WMA and MP3.
The iPod will NOT play WMA.
If your music is AAC, either imported from a CD or purchased, they won't work.

I understand that on CD's it will play only WMA and MP3, but it is iPod ready and there is a USB port on the front. Does it's restriction of WMA and MP3 carry over to the USB port or does iPod ready mean that I can plug my iPod into the USB port and play my iPod? Thanks for your quickness in response!

Yes.

Yes.
As long as you use MP3. The file is sent from the iPod to the USB port. If you try to play anything other than WMA or MP3, the receiver won't know what to do with it.
