My Time Machine is delayed and says:
TIme Machine couldn't complete the backup to "MYBOOKLIVE".
The backup disk is not available.
Yet "MYBOOKLIVE" is showing in the finder window when I open up the hard disk, and I can access it and see the files.
Anyone know what's going on? I need o back up as I have a "Genius Bar" date tonight cause I am in "Beach Ball Pergatory" all the time.

I also now have the hard drive, "MYBOOKLIVE" hooked directly, via Ethernet, to my MBP. It is seen in Finder and I can access it and use the files. Howeer, I am still getting that same message.

Can you see the sparsebundle for the TM backup in finder??
If you have it mounted in finder then TM cannot open it and it won't work. Dismount the drive in finder and then TM might be able to access it.

I strongly recommend that you delete TM setup and redo it.. see A4 in the above reference.
Some WD software causes issues.. see C17.
There can be naming problems.. see C9
If you are concerned I strongly recommend you use a different backup program.. create a disk image using CCC which has a one month trial. It is more reliable than TM.
