How do reset my Safari / Chrome security settings? I can't do anything now like banking, accessing email..

Hi there

I've updates to Mavericks and all was well but since then the security settings have gone a bit strange and I can't access secure websites - it just hangs at the initial logon or to get to the next stage of a log on, ie banking, email etc

Can anyone help, its driving me mad.
