Q: I'm a little confused about the camera roll and photo stream in the new iOS 7 and Mavericks.

When you delete pics from either the camera roll or photo stream on an iPhone, does it delete them from your Mac and iPad as well? I HOPE the answer is NO. When you take a pic, if I understand correctly, it goes on your camera roll and instantly to your stream and into photos on your Mac and iPad via the Cloud. Is that correct? I would hope that, once the photos go onto your Mac and iPad and you put them into albums that you could delete them from the camera roll and photo stream on your phone. Then, when you sync your Mac and phone, you can transfer the albums the way you want to the phone. Am I missing anything here?

Deleting only from the Camera Roll on the iPhone will not delete the photo from the PhotoStream. But deleting from the PhotoStream will remove the photo from iCloud.

If you imported it already from the Photo Stream on your mac into the monthly events it will have been imported to your iPhoto Library for good, and it can be removed from your iPhone and iCloud, if you need space. But first make sure, that you imported the photo from the PhotoStream. It has to show in an event, not only in the Photo Stream on your mac.
