Volume control appears on screen, and won't go away, partially blocking screen, especially text box. Any suggestions on how to stop this?

The Volume control appears on my iPhone, even when I haven't touched the volume buttons. It partially blocks the screen, which is annoying, but when I can scroll I can still read the page. But when texting it blocks the text box, and prevents me from typing certain letters. Also when the volume control is on the screen and I

try to adjust the volume it very often goes up to full volume on it's own. This problem was present before I updated to iOs7. These problems occur frequently every day. Any suggestions as to how I can correct this?

check the headphone jack for lint or debris, canned air works well

if no result

Press and hold BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

if no result

remove any case and screen protector

if no result

reset all settings

settings-general-reset-reset all settings

now reconnect to wifi

settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join

if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

Peace, Clyde
