The tones/beeps you are getting is not because of bad RAM. It is because the OS X install disc you are trying to use is not the correct one for your Mac. What model year is your Mac? If it is a mid 2011 or newer no older version of OS X that comes on a DVD disc will install on it. You need to install Lion, from the Online Internet Recovery system, or Mt Lion by using the built in Recovery HD partition.

If the computer is working then it's not the RAM. Could be caused by an installer problem. Are you installing from a DVD or flash drive installer you made, or are you trying to download the installer and the beeps are being generated by that process. And, you may have a bad installer disc. What are you trying to install from the disc? Did your computer come with the version of OS X on that disc?
